According to data from the Pew Research Center, 72% of U.S. adults surveyed say it is "extremely or very important" for their medical provider to disclose any use of AI. The desire for transparency is even more pronounced when the technology directly impacts clinical outcomes; 80% of respondents want to be told if AI is being used for direct care or medical decisions, such as the analysis of lab results, X-rays, and scans, or the formulation of diagnoses.
