While previous instances of AI use by militant groups focused primarily on disinformation and recruitment, Boko Haram is applying these tools to direct kinetic operations. This trend is reportedly part of a broader upskilling program pushed by ISIS, aimed at professionalizing the technical capabilities of its affiliates. By moving these activities into private chats, the group is effectively bypassing traditional surveillance and intelligence-gathering methods that previously monitored open-web forums.
