Scott Boden, Superintendent of Goessel USD 411, stated that the ability to accurately identify a handgun from a distance exceeded expectations and provided added confidence in the technology's role in school safety.

The rollout is being driven by the Kansas Safe and Secure Firearm Detection Grant Program. Administered by the Office of the Kansas Attorney General, this initiative provides the necessary funding for districts to acquire advanced detection capabilities. This state-level support is particularly significant for rural districts that may lack the local tax base or law enforcement resources to implement such high-tech security measures independently.
