According to company data, KnowBench reports a platform score of 97.99% for effort reduction in these tasks.

Founded in 2022 by Stanford AI scientists CEO Caroline Zhang and CTO Jocelyn Kang, Knowtex initially focused on oncology. The company targeted the field due to oncology's specific requirements for longitudinal patient history and precise medical coding. The company specializes in ambient clinical intelligence, which converts doctor-patient conversations into structured orders, billing codes, and clinical notes.
This specialized approach has seen significant scale. Knowtex's platform currently operates across more than 200 specialties within over 300 organizations nationwide. A primary driver of this growth is a $15 million contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The technology is currently live across 79 VA medical centers, serving more than 7,000 clinicians.

The real-world application of these tools has shown a measurable impact on provider burnout. Clinicians at the VA using Knowtex have saved more than 450,000 hours of documentation time, maintaining a sustained adoption rate of 88%. One Kansas City VA provider noted that the ambient scribe allows them to be more focused on their interaction with the Veteran.
CEO Caroline Zhang stated that the goal is to shift the clinician's role from the authorship of notes to a process of review and signature. By implementing "anti-hallucination safeguards," the company intends to replace general-purpose AI with models that meet the high-stakes accuracy requirements of medical environments.
