Oneida County Youth Program Adds AI Literacy to Workforce Training

About 80 participants in the Oneida County Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) completed an Artificial Intelligence Awareness course from August 3 to 6. The initiative aims to equip young workers with a foundational understanding of AI's growing influence on professional careers, education, and daily life.

Delivered by the Oneida County Office of Workforce Development in partnership with Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC), the curriculum focused on the practical role of AI across various sectors. The program provided students with a balanced perspective on the technology's utility and the risks associated with its use, guiding them through the pros and cons of AI to ensure they utilize these tools with a comprehensive understanding of their implications.

Expanding Work Readiness
