QNB reports that while AI provides significant opportunities to boost productivity in finance, education, and healthcare, it simultaneously threatens the traditional economic models of developing states. To avoid being left behind, the bank emphasizes that these nations must urgently invest in digital infrastructure, data ecosystems, and specialized skills. The scale of the transition is immense; UNCTAD projects the global AI market will expand approximately 25-fold to reach roughly USD 4.8 trillion by 2033.
The Shift to Algorithm Arbitrage
For decades, emerging economies have relied on "labor arbitrage," leveraging low-cost human workers to provide repetitive remote tasks and IT outsourcing.
