Revolut Bundles OpenAI's ChatGPT Go for Millions of Global Users

The fintech giant is integrating a low-cost AI subscription into its retail plans to boost membership value.

Revolut has partnered with OpenAI to bundle "ChatGPT Go," a low-cost paid subscription tier, into its retail customer plans. The move places advanced AI tools directly into the hands of a global user base, marking a significant distribution expansion for OpenAI.

Under the new agreement, Revolut customers receive a set period of ChatGPT Go access at no additional cost, with the duration determined by their subscription tier. Ultra members receive 12 months of service plus a 12-month "buddy pass," while Metal subscribers receive 12 months. Those on Premium or Revolut Pro plans receive six months, and Standard users receive three months. The rollout is being executed in a staggered fashion, prioritizing top-tier subscribers first.

The Technology Behind the Offer

ChatGPT Go is powered by GPT-5, specifically utilizing the "Terra" model designed for balanced everyday use. This subscription tier provides users with enhanced capabilities beyond the free version, including higher usage limits, memory features, image generation, and the ability to perform document analysis and file uploads.

Revolut, which serves over 75 million customers worldwide, has a long-standing strategy of bundling lifestyle perks—such as insurance and airport lounge access—into its paid tiers to increase membership value. The company is already deeply integrated with OpenAI's technology, utilizing its models for internal customer support and fraud monitoring, and operates its own AI assistant known as "AIR."

Strategic Implications

For OpenAI, the partnership represents a massive distribution win, allowing the company to place its paid services in front of tens of millions of users through a third-party fintech channel. For Revolut, the addition of a high-demand AI tool strengthens the value proposition of its monthly subscriptions in an increasingly competitive digital banking market.

"We want to empower our customers with tools that accompany their entire daily lives while going beyond the financial," said Tara Massoudi, Revolut General Manager for Premium Products. Emmanuel Marill, OpenAI Managing Director for EMEA, added that the company is "excited to partner with Revolut and bring ChatGPT Go to millions of customers worldwide."

What's Next

This deal signals a broader industry trend where AI assistants are becoming embedded directly into financial services applications. As the rollout continues across all tiers, the industry will be watching to see if this model of "AI-as-a-perk" leads to higher conversion rates for Revolut's premium plans or prompts other neobanks to seek similar partnerships with LLM providers.
