The cybersecurity industry is bracing for a shift toward autonomous threats following the Black Hat USA 2026 conference in Las Vegas. The event highlighted the emergence of 'agentic AI,' signaling a critical transition in how enterprises must defend against self-executing attack chains.
During the conference, which ran from August 1 to 6, the focus shifted from general AI assistance to the risks posed by autonomous systems capable of executing complex attacks with minimal human intervention. In response to these evolving risks, market leaders have accelerated the rollout of specialized defense platforms.
