Oracle Integrates Google Gemini into Fusion and NetSuite Apps
The expanded partnership allows enterprises to deploy Gemini's reasoning capabilities within core business workflows via the Oracle AI Agent Studio.
Oracle and Google Cloud have expanded their strategic partnership to integrate Google's Gemini models directly into Oracle Fusion Applications and Oracle NetSuite. This move allows enterprises to embed advanced AI reasoning and multimodal capabilities into operational workflows, enabling the creation of "Fusion-native" agents.
Through the Oracle AI Agent Studio, customers and partners can deploy specific Gemini models tailored to different operational needs. The integration includes Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite, optimized for efficiency, and Gemini 3.5 Flash, designed for complex reasoning and the creation of multimodal content such as videos and presentations. This capability extends to Oracle NetSuite, a platform serving more than 44,000 customers across 220 countries.
The Strategy of Model Choice
This integration reflects a broader industry shift where enterprise software providers move away from reliance on a single AI vendor. Oracle is implementing a "model choice" strategy, providing a menu of large language models (LLMs) so users can select the most effective tool for specific tasks, such as HR workflows, procurement, and finance approvals.
According to Chris Leone, Executive Vice President of Applications Development at Oracle, organizations require the flexibility to choose the AI model best suited to each specific problem to achieve optimal business outcomes. This approach separates the "reasoning" layer—handled by models like Gemini—from the "execution" layer, where Oracle’s application layer governs the actual transactions, approvals, and workflows.
Market Implications
For Google, the partnership significantly increases Gemini's footprint by placing its AI directly into the core business processes of thousands of global companies. Satish Thomas, Vice President at Google Cloud, noted that the collaboration helps organizations automate workflows and accelerate decision-making within the applications they rely on daily.
For Oracle, the move strengthens its position as a flexible distributor of AI capabilities. By offering state-of-the-art reasoning without forcing customers into a single-vendor ecosystem, Oracle ensures its Fusion and NetSuite suites remain competitive against other cloud giants.
What's Next
As enterprises build agentic applications within the AI Agent Studio, the industry will monitor how the separation of reasoning and execution layers impacts the reliability of automated business transactions. Kevin Ichhpurani, President of Global Partner Ecosystem at Google Cloud, emphasized that this brings Google's most capable models into the daily workflows of global businesses, signaling a deeper push into the enterprise software market.
