Waymo has announced plans to launch a commercial ride-hailing service in Munich, Germany, marking a significant leap in the company's international expansion. The service is targeted for public availability toward the end of 2027.
To facilitate the move, the company has established a local presence via Waymo Germany GmbH, which was registered on June 15, 2026. The rollout in Munich will require regulatory approval from local officials and the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA).
