NVIDIA and Saudi Arabia's HUMAIN to Build Massive AI Factory Network

The partnership will deploy hundreds of thousands of GPUs to establish a 500-megawatt sovereign AI infrastructure.

NVIDIA has entered a strategic partnership with HUMAIN, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), to construct a network of "AI factories" across the Kingdom. The initiative aims to establish Saudi Arabia as a global AI powerhouse by building massive, sovereign computing infrastructure.

Over the next five years, the project will deploy several hundred thousand of NVIDIA's most advanced GPUs. The initiative targets a projected capacity of up to 500 megawatts of AI compute power. As a starting point, the initial deployment features an 18,000 NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell AI supercomputer equipped with NVIDIA InfiniBand networking. Additionally, the partnership will implement NVIDIA's Omniverse platform as a multi-tenant system, designed to accelerate the development of robotics and physical AI through digital twin technologies and simulation.

Strategic Economic Shift

This infrastructure push is a core component of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 strategy, which seeks to diversify the national economy and reduce its long-term dependency on oil. By investing heavily in digital infrastructure, the Kingdom is attempting to pivot toward a knowledge-based economy driven by artificial intelligence and advanced computing.

Eng. Abdullah Alswaha, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, described the partnership as "a turning point that will lay the groundwork for a new industrial revolution in the Kingdom." Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN, added that the move is "a bold step forward in realizing Saudi Arabia's ambitions to lead in AI and advanced digital infrastructure on the global stage."

Geopolitical Implications

By developing sovereign AI capabilities at this scale, Saudi Arabia significantly reduces its reliance on foreign-owned AI infrastructure. The sheer volume of the investment—spanning hundreds of thousands of GPUs—represents one of the largest AI infrastructure projects in the world. This shift in compute power potentially alters the geopolitical landscape, allowing the Kingdom to compete directly with established global AI powers in terms of raw processing capacity and model training capabilities.

Future Outlook

Industry observers will now watch for the actual rollout of the GB300 supercomputers and the integration of the Omniverse platform into local industrial sectors. While the five-year roadmap is ambitious, the success of the project depends on the Kingdom's ability to attract the technical talent required to manage such a massive compute footprint.
