Binance Launches US Stock and ETF Options for Non-US Users

The exchange now offers physically settled options on over 1,000 US equities, with shares custodied by Alpaca.

Binance has expanded its financial ecosystem by launching physically settled options on more than 1,000 US stocks and ETFs. The move marks a significant step in the exchange's effort to integrate traditional capital markets into its digital asset platform.

The service, which went live on September 1, 2026, is available to eligible non-US users. This allows a global audience to hedge positions or speculate on US equity markets through a single interface. To facilitate the physical settlement of these contracts, the underlying shares are custodied by Alpaca on behalf of Binance users.

The Shift Toward TradFi

Historically, Binance has operated primarily as a hub for cryptocurrency trading and digital asset derivatives. However, the integration of US equity options represents a strategic pivot toward traditional finance (TradFi). By offering these instruments, Binance is targeting a specific market gap: global retail and institutional traders who may lack direct access to traditional US brokerage accounts but are already comfortable with the exchange's digital infrastructure.

Market Implications

This expansion signals Binance's ambition to evolve from a crypto-centric exchange into a comprehensive financial services hub. By consolidating crypto and traditional equity derivatives under one roof, the platform increases its utility and stickiness for professional traders. The ability to manage a diversified portfolio of both digital and traditional assets in one place reduces friction and provides a more holistic toolset for risk management.

Future Outlook

As Binance continues to blur the line between decentralized and centralized finance, the industry will be watching for further expansions into other traditional asset classes. While the current offering is restricted to non-US users, the success of this rollout could dictate how the exchange approaches future regulatory hurdles and product launches in other jurisdictions. It remains to be seen if this TradFi push will lead to further partnerships with traditional custodians beyond Alpaca.
