Bitfinex Securities Debuts Five Tokenized Bitcoin Treasury Products

The regulated arm of Bitfinex now offers compliant economic exposure to Bitcoin-heavy companies via the Liquid Network.

TechNewsReel Newsroom · September 2, 2026

Bitfinex Securities has listed five tokenized products tied to Bitcoin treasury companies, providing a regulated pathway for investors to gain economic exposure to digital asset-heavy balance sheets. The move integrates institutional-grade treasury strategies into a blockchain-based security token framework.

The new offerings provide exposure to a specific group of entities: Strategy, Metaplanet, H100, and Capital B, along with Strategy's STRC preferred stock. These securities were issued on the Liquid Network, a Bitcoin sidechain designed to enhance scalability and privacy. To ensure regulatory compliance, the products are issued through ORO (II), a Luxembourg-based umbrella securitization fund managed by SICOS Securities. Furthermore, the products received approval from El Salvador's Comisión Nacional de Activos Digitales (CNAD). To facilitate accessibility for a variety of investor profiles, the securities are available in trading pairs including U.S. dollars, USDT, and Bitcoin.

The Shift Toward Tokenized Treasuries

This launch occurs as the broader financial industry seeks to bridge the gap between traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralized finance (DeFi). By wrapping institutional assets into security tokens, firms can offer the transparency and efficiency of blockchain technology while maintaining the legal protections of regulated securities. Bitfinex Securities, as the regulated arm of the Bitfinex exchange, is specifically positioned to handle the issuance and trading of these security tokens, moving beyond the speculative nature of spot trading into structured financial products.

Implications for Institutional Adoption

The introduction of regulated tokenized Bitcoin treasury products is significant because it allows institutional investors to gain exposure to Bitcoin-centric corporate strategies within a compliant legal framework. For professional portfolio managers, this reduces the operational friction and regulatory risk associated with holding native digital assets. By providing a regulated vehicle for Bitcoin-backed assets, Bitfinex Securities potentially increases the liquidity of these instruments and accelerates the adoption of digital assets within professional investment mandates.

Market Outlook

As more regulated entities launch tokenized versions of treasury assets, the market is likely to see a rise in "wrapped" institutional strategies. Investors will be watching to see if other Bitcoin-heavy corporations follow the lead of Metaplanet and Strategy in becoming the underlying assets for such products. While the current issuance is focused on a select group of companies via the ORO (II) fund, the success of these products could signal a shift toward a more standardized market for tokenized corporate treasuries.
