The coalition—which includes industry leaders such as Coinbase, Kraken, Ledger, Galaxy, and Blockstream—specifically urges AI labs to prioritize Bitcoin Core developers in trusted-access programs. The group warns that a dangerous asymmetry has emerged: while malicious actors use frontier AI to automate the discovery of zero-day vulnerabilities, the defenders tasked with patching those holes are often restricted by AI guardrails or lack access to the latest model iterations. To bridge this gap, the BPI is requesting programs that provide pre-release model access, dedicated compute for security audits, secure environments for handling embargoed code, and direct disclosure channels with AI labs.
