Mantle Integrates Paxos USDG to Scale Institutional RWA Ecosystem
The Ethereum layer-2 network joins the Global Dollar Network to provide a regulated settlement layer for tokenized assets.
Mantle has integrated the Paxos-issued Global Dollar (USDG) as a natively minted stablecoin and joined the Global Dollar Network (GDN) as a partner. The move establishes a regulated, institutional-grade settlement asset to support the network's expanding real-world asset (RWA) ecosystem.
USDG is now available on Mantle as one of the network's first natively issued stablecoins. The asset is fully backed 1:1 by U.S. dollars and is redeemable from Paxos. To ensure regulatory compliance across major jurisdictions, USDG is issued by Paxos Digital Singapore, which is supervised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and Paxos Issuance Europe, which complies with the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. The broader Global Dollar Network has already expanded to include over 150 partners, with USDG circulation surpassing $3 billion.
The Push for Institutional Capital
Mantle operates as an Ethereum layer-2 network designed to bridge traditional finance with on-chain markets. By targeting institutional-grade capital market assets, Mantle aims to move beyond retail speculation toward professional financial infrastructure. This strategy is supported by significant resources; the network currently manages a treasury of over $4 billion in community-owned assets.
According to the Global Dollar Network, the integration provides the foundational liquidity for the network's financial activity. The network stated that "every tokenized fund, every lending market, and every settlement flow on the network needs a dollar to move through," and that USDG is intended to fill that role.
Shifting Stablecoin Economics
The integration represents a strategic shift in how stablecoins interact with blockchain infrastructure. Unlike traditional models where the issuer retains the majority of reserve income, the Global Dollar Network is designed to share reserve income with the partners who drive adoption. This reward-sharing model allows infrastructure providers like Mantle to benefit directly from the assets they help circulate.
For the broader industry, this move signals a transition toward regulated digital dollars over unregulated alternatives. By reducing reliance on bolted-on stablecoins and implementing a regulated settlement layer, Mantle is positioning itself to attract institutional capital that requires strict compliance and transparency.
Future Outlook
As Mantle continues to scale its RWA offerings, the success of this integration will depend on the volume of institutional assets migrating to the network. Market observers will be watching to see if the reward-sharing model of the Global Dollar Network accelerates the adoption of USDG over established competitors. While the network's treasury provides a strong capital base, the long-term growth of the ecosystem will rely on the continued onboarding of regulated financial products.
