Mynt and CostPocket Partner to Automate Nordic-Baltic Business Spending

The Swedish and Estonian fintechs are integrating card issuance with expense management to streamline the SME spending cycle.

TechNewsReel Newsroom · September 10, 2026

Swedish fintech Mynt and Estonian expense management startup CostPocket have entered a strategic partnership to unify business payment and accounting workflows. The collaboration aims to automate the end-to-end spending cycle for small and medium-sized enterprises across the Nordic and Baltic regions.

Under the terms of the agreement, Mynt serves as the card service provider for CostPocket’s company cards, providing the essential financial core and card issuance capabilities. While some early reports suggested an acquisition, the companies have clarified that this is a strategic collaboration. The partnership is currently moving toward a deeper technical synergy, with a full integration of card services directly into the CostPocket app scheduled for completion in the second half of 2026.

The Integration Context

CostPocket, formerly known as Tsekk, has built its reputation as a specialist in OCR-based expense management and receipt digitization, primarily serving SMEs and accountants. By partnering with Mynt, a Swedish spend management platform licensed by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority, CostPocket can now offer its users the ability to issue and manage business cards without disrupting their existing expense reconciliation workflows. This allows users to handle the payment phase of a transaction and the accounting phase within a single ecosystem.

Why the Partnership Matters

This collaboration represents a significant cross-border integration in the Nordic-Baltic fintech corridor. By bridging the gap between payment issuance and digitization, the two companies are addressing a common pain point for SMEs: the manual friction between spending money and recording it for tax and accounting purposes. The move toward a fully integrated app experience suggests a shift toward "invisible" accounting, where the act of payment automatically triggers the digitization and reconciliation process.

What's Next

Industry observers will be watching the rollout of the technical integration through 2025 and into 2026. The success of the venture depends on the seamless migration of card services into the CostPocket interface. While the core partnership is established, the full realization of a unified spending and accounting tool remains the primary milestone for the second half of 2026.
