Nuvei and BlackLine Embed Global Payments into Invoice-to-Cash Platform
The partnership integrates payment acceptance directly into financial workflows to automate reconciliation across 190 markets.
Nuvei and BlackLine have partnered to embed global payment infrastructure directly into BlackLine’s Invoice-to-Cash (I2C) platform. The integration eliminates the manual gap between billing and payment collection for large-scale enterprises.
Announced on August 5, 2026, the partnership allows businesses to accept payments via bank transfers, credit cards, and various local payment methods directly on their invoices. This system automates the matching of incoming funds to outstanding receivables, a process that has historically required significant manual intervention. The service is already live with enterprise customers and supports collections in 150 different currencies across more than 190 markets.
The Friction in Financial Operations
For many finance departments, the "Invoice-to-Cash" process remains a fragmented bottleneck. While billing and reporting have largely moved to digital formats, the actual acceptance of payment often exists as a separate, disconnected workflow. This separation frequently leads to delayed collections and a lack of real-time visibility into a company's actual cash position, forcing accounting teams to manually reconcile bank statements against open invoices.
Phil Fayer, President and CEO of Nuvei, noted that payments should function as a natural extension of the I2C process rather than a separate task. By embedding the payment layer into the invoicing workflow, the partnership targets the specific inefficiencies of cash application and reconciliation.
Impact on Corporate Liquidity
Uniting payment acceptance with financial operations software directly impacts a company's working capital management. By accelerating the collections cycle, enterprises can improve their immediate liquidity and reduce the risk of payment delays.
Andy Liley, Managing Director of Invoice-to-Cash at BlackLine, stated that embedding Nuvei's infrastructure into these workflows helps enterprises reduce complexity and improve visibility. For the Office of the CFO, this integration provides a single source of truth for real-time cash positions, removing the lag time associated with manual data entry and cross-referencing between payment gateways and accounting software.
Future Outlook
The rollout marks a shift toward "embedded finance" within the enterprise resource planning (ERP) and accounting space. As more companies move toward fully automated receivables, the industry will likely see a broader trend of payment rails being integrated directly into the software where the invoice is generated. Market observers will now watch how the adoption of this integrated model affects the speed of global B2B settlements and whether further local payment methods are added to the existing 190-market reach.
