Strive expanded its digital asset treasury by purchasing 1,375 Bitcoin between August 31 and September 4, 2026. The move underscores the company's aggressive strategy to accumulate BTC as a primary reserve asset.

According to data reported by CryptoSlate, Strive acquired the Bitcoin at an average price of approximately $79,281 per coin, representing a total investment of roughly $109 million. This latest acquisition brings the company's total holdings to 24,531 BTC as of September 4, 2026. To finance these purchases and support ongoing operations, Strive issued 921,511 new SATA preferred shares, increasing the total number of outstanding shares from 9,073,914 to 9,995,425.

The Funding Mechanism

Strive is utilizing a capital-raising strategy centered on SATA variable-rate perpetual preferred equity. This mechanism allows the firm to generate immediate liquidity for Bitcoin acquisitions while providing a fixed-rate return to its investors. The current dividend rate for this perpetual preferred equity is set at 13% on a $100 stated amount per share, which equates to an annual payment of $13 per share.

During the week ending September 4, the company's cash and cash equivalents rose by $19.1 million, reaching a total of $202.6 million. This liquidity buffer is critical for managing the recurring payments owed to the holders of the SATA shares.

Market Implications

This strategy creates a high-leverage loop where Strive accelerates its Bitcoin exposure by issuing debt-like equity. By leveraging preferred shares to buy a volatile asset, the company is betting that the long-term appreciation of Bitcoin will outpace the cost of the dividends it must pay to shareholders.

While this approach allows for rapid accumulation without diluting common equity, it increases the company's fixed cash obligations. The reliance on perpetual preferred equity means Strive must maintain a consistent stream of liquidity to service these dividends regardless of Bitcoin's short-term price action.

Outlook and Risks

As Strive scales its treasury, the firm's financial stability becomes increasingly tied to the performance of the cryptocurrency market. The primary risk remains the gap between the fixed cost of the 13% dividend and the liquidity available to cover those payments if Bitcoin prices were to stagnate or decline.

Investors and analysts are monitoring whether Strive continues to issue SATA shares to fund further purchases or shifts toward other financing methods to manage its growing dividend burden. For now, the company remains committed to its role as a corporate accumulator of Bitcoin.
