XRP Holders Can Now Borrow RLUSD on Ethereum via Sentora Vault

Sentora integrates Flare's wrapped XRP as collateral in a $280 million RLUSD lending pool powered by Morpho Blue.

XRP holders can now access liquidity on the Ethereum mainnet by using wrapped XRP as collateral to borrow Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin. This integration marks the first time an XRP-based asset has been accepted as collateral within an institutionally curated lending environment on Ethereum.

Sentora has officially approved Flare's wrapped XRP (FXRP) for use in its RLUSD lending vault, which is deployed via the Morpho Blue protocol. The vault currently holds approximately $280 million in deposited RLUSD. To participate, users must first mint FXRP through Flare's FAssets system and bridge the asset to Ethereum to serve as collateral for their loans.

Bridging Ecosystems

This move connects two distinct blockchain environments. Ripple launched RLUSD as a 1:1 USD-backed stablecoin designed for corporate treasury management and cross-border payments on both Ethereum and the XRP Ledger. Meanwhile, the Flare Network provides the FAssets infrastructure, which allows users to create synthetic versions of assets like XRP. By wrapping XRP into FXRP, holders can move their value into EVM-compatible chains, effectively bridging the gap between the XRP ecosystem and Ethereum's decentralized finance (DeFi) markets.

Institutional Implications

The ability to borrow against XRP without selling the underlying asset provides a significant utility boost for holders, potentially reducing sell-side pressure during market volatility. According to Sentora CTO and co-founder Jesus Rodriguez, enabling FXRP as collateral brings the scale of XRP into DeFi and expands its productive utility across onchain credit markets.

Furthermore, the move serves as a validation of Flare's bridging technology. Flare CEO Hugo Philion noted that having XRP underwritten by an institutional risk team on the Ethereum mainnet represents a stronger form of recognition than a standard bridge listing. This institutional backing suggests a growing confidence in the stability and liquidity of wrapped XRP assets.

Market Outlook

As RLUSD continues to integrate into institutional DeFi frameworks, the success of this vault may encourage other lending protocols to accept XRP-based collateral. Observers will be watching for the growth of the vault's total value locked and whether additional synthetic assets from the Flare Network are approved for similar institutional lending pools on Ethereum.
