Green GSM Deploys 1,000 Electric Vehicles in Philippine Driver Festival
The all-electric taxi service scales its Metro Manila fleet using a low-barrier rental model for drivers.
Green GSM Philippines handed over 1,000 electric vehicles to driver partners during a large-scale festival held from September 12-14, 2026. The initiative marks a significant expansion of the company's operational capacity and its push for sustainable urban transport across the archipelago.
The event, hosted at The Tent in Las Piñas City and various company depots, attracted up to 5,000 current and prospective drivers. The fleet consists of VinFast electric vehicles, specifically the 4-seater Herio Green (VF 5) and the 7-seater Limo Green. To facilitate the transition to electric mobility, Green GSM introduced a vehicle rental model requiring an initial investment starting from PHP 5,000. To mitigate long-term risk for partners, VinFast provides warranty coverage for the vehicles of up to seven years or 160,000 kilometers.
Scaling Sustainable Mobility
Green GSM, known as Green and Smart Mobility, is an all-electric taxi service that entered the Philippine market following successful operations in Vietnam, Laos, and Indonesia. The company currently operates across Metro Manila, Central Visayas, and Mindanao. By partnering with VinFast for its fleet, the company aims to accelerate the national shift toward green transportation through its "5 Green Promises" commitment, offering both standard and premium transportation options to the public.

This large-scale deployment represents a critical acceleration of electric vehicle adoption within the Philippine public transport sector. By lowering the financial barrier to entry via the PHP 5,000 rental model, Green GSM is attempting to make the green transition financially viable for individual drivers who might otherwise be priced out of EV ownership.
