When drivers arrive at a station only to find every stall occupied, it creates a reliability gap that fuels range anxiety.

As industry analysts note, ultra-fast EV chargers make for great headlines, but they cannot survive long if the companies installing them are not generating a profit.

If operators shift their priority toward plug count, the result could be a more resilient and widespread charging network. This approach lowers the barrier to entry for smaller operators who cannot afford the extreme infrastructure costs of ultra-fast hubs, potentially eliminating "charging deserts" in underserved areas.

By focusing on aggregate uptime and occupancy rather than peak speed, the industry can create a network that supports more vehicles simultaneously. This shift is essential for moving EVs from a niche enthusiast product to a primary mode of transport for the general public.
