Google has introduced a biometric accessibility feature in the Android 16 QPR2 update that allows Pixel users to unlock their devices using the under-display fingerprint sensor while the screen is completely off. This change eliminates the requirement for users to manually wake the device before the sensor registers a touch.

The update adds a dedicated toggle within the Security and privacy settings. Once enabled, the under-display sensor remains active even when the display is dark, allowing for a single-motion unlock.
