Granular Control and Accessibility

For users who prefer manual precision over AI automation, Android continues to offer Notification Categories. On Samsung devices, this is labeled as "Manage notification categories for each app." This setting allows users to toggle specific types of alerts—such as separating direct messages from marketing promotions—on a per-app basis. This ensures that a user can silence an app's newsletters without missing a direct message from a colleague.

Additionally, for those who keep their phones on silent to avoid distraction, Flash Notifications provide a non-auditory alternative. This feature uses the camera flash or a screen flash to provide visual cues for incoming alerts, ensuring critical notifications are seen without requiring the device to make noise.
