Anker debuts Thus AI chip in new Soundcore audio and health wearables
The electronics giant pivots toward edge AI and medical-adjacent hardware with a new suite of silicon-powered devices.
Anker unveiled a suite of AI-powered audio products at IFA 2026, centered around its proprietary Thus AI chip. The launch signals a strategic pivot toward on-device processing for noise cancellation, productivity, and health monitoring.
The centerpiece of the announcement is the Soundcore Space 2 Pro headphones. These utilize an eight-sensor array powered by the Thus chip to deliver adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC) and real-time voice and noise separation during calls. Priced at $200 and available September 22, the Space 2 Pro offers 30 hours of battery life with ANC enabled and up to 60 hours without.
Anker also expanded its earbuds and productivity offerings. The Soundcore Liberty Buds 2, priced at $130 and launching September 22, leverage the Thus chip for ANC and feature a 9.2mm wool paper diaphragm. For professional use, the Soundcore AeroClip 2 Pro ($230) uses the same silicon to function as a personal transcriptionist, capable of transcribing or summarizing online meetings and calls directly on the device.
Expanding into Health and Wellness
Beyond traditional audio, Anker is entering the health and medical-adjacent markets. The company introduced RIC Hearing Aids that use the Thus chip and a four-microphone array to isolate speakers positioned in front of the wearer. These devices emphasize convenience, offering a fast-charge capability that provides two hours of battery life from a five-minute charge.
Additionally, the company debuted the Sleep Earbuds 4 and 4 Pro. These wearables are designed to monitor biodata, including heart rate and sleep stages, to provide users with an assessment of their overall rest quality.
The Shift to Edge AI
This product rollout represents a significant move up the value chain for Anker. By developing its own silicon, the company is shifting toward "edge AI," where complex processing for transcription and health monitoring happens locally on the hardware rather than relying on cloud-based servers. This approach reduces latency and improves privacy for sensitive health and voice data.
By integrating medical-grade functionality—such as speaker isolation in hearing aids—with consumer electronics pricing and charging speeds, Anker is positioning itself to compete simultaneously with premium audio brands and specialized medical manufacturers.
