Anker's Soundcore division has launched the Nebula X1S, a high-brightness projector engineered to function in ambient light. The device aims to bridge the gap between traditional home cinema equipment and large-screen televisions by significantly increasing light output to tackle the perennial struggle of daytime viewing.
The Nebula X1S serves as a substantial upgrade to the previous Nebula X1, boosting brightness from 3,500 to 6,000 ANSI lumens. This jump is achieved through a revised optical engine that incorporates a four-lamp system. Despite the increase in power, the unit maintains 4K UHD resolution and utilizes a triple-laser projector system with Dolby Vision support.
Engineering for Versatility
To manage the heat generated by the increased lumen output, the X1S features a dedicated liquid cooling system that maintains a noise profile of 26dB. The hardware includes a 14-element glass array and a 25-degree tilt for flexible placement. For screen sizing, the projector offers optical zoom capabilities, allowing users to project a 200-inch screen from a distance of 13 to 22 feet.
On the connectivity and software front, the unit comes with built-in Google TV and two HDMI inputs, one of which supports eARC for high-quality audio passthrough. Pricing for the hardware starts at $3,299 for the standalone projector. Anker is also offering bundles, including a speaker package for $3,999 and a comprehensive kit featuring speakers and a 100-inch screen for $4,167.
