Dyson enters oral care with AI-powered CameraJet toothbrush

Dyson has expanded its portfolio of high-end grooming tools with the launch of the CameraJet, an electric toothbrush that integrates brushing and water-flossing into a single device. The product aims to automate the often-neglected process of flossing by using computer vision to target gaps between teeth in real-time.
Available for $499, the CameraJet combines traditional sonic brushing with a specialized "Gap Optical Targeting" system. The device is equipped with a 100k pixel macro lens camera that scans the mouth at a rate of 28 images per second. When the system identifies a gap between teeth, it triggers a precise jet of mouthrinse or water to remove plaque. To support this, the handle contains a 12.5ml water tank. The toothbrush is offered in Ceramic Ultra Blue and Ceramic Pink and comes with a travel case and a docking station that automatically refills the water tank while the device charges.
A shift toward automated hygiene
Dyson has an established history of disrupting consumer categories by applying its expertise in fluid dynamics and motors to luxury home tools. This strategy was previously seen with the success of the Supersonic hairdryer and the Airwrap. With the CameraJet, the company is applying a similar logic to oral health, attempting to remove the manual effort from flossing by embedding the process directly into the daily brushing routine.
