Mark Jansen of Android Police recently detailed his return to sleep tracking via the Fitbit Air after years of avoiding the practice to protect his mental health. Jansen had previously struggled with 'orthosomnia'—a condition where the obsession with achieving perfect sleep data actually degrades a user's well-being. He notes that the Fitbit Air's lack of a display and its slow syncing process act as a buffer, preventing the immediate 'judgment' of sleep statistics upon waking. "The Fitbit Air lets me avoid the trap," Jansen stated, adding that he now receives the advantages of tracking without the psychological downsides.
