RugOne has unveiled the Xsnap 7 Pro, a rugged smartphone that integrates a detachable, standalone action camera. The device aims to streamline hardware for outdoor enthusiasts by combining a durable phone with a dedicated recording tool.
Debuted at MWC 2026 and later showcased at IFA 2026, the Xsnap 7 Pro's standout feature is a magnetic camera module that can be removed from the chassis to operate independently. This action cam is waterproof up to five meters and includes 64GB of internal storage, recording video at up to 2.7K resolution at 30fps. While the module provides a battery life of up to 40 minutes, it can broadcast a live preview feed back to the phone's screen from distances of up to 160 feet.
Hardware and Durability
Beyond the detachable module, the Xsnap 7 Pro is built for extreme conditions with IP68 and IP69K ratings. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 processor and features a 6.67-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. For imaging, the device carries a 50MP AI main camera equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a specialized 64MP infrared camera for night vision.

RugOne, a brand operating under Ulefone, is attempting to bridge the gap between two distinct hardware categories.
