Samsung Unveils AI-Powered Smart Glasses With Google, Gentle Monster and Warby Parker
The Galaxy Unpacked reveal marks Samsung's entry into the AI wearable race with Android XR-powered eyewear designed for everyday wear.
Samsung Electronics unveiled its first intelligent eyewear Tuesday at Galaxy Unpacked in London, entering the AI wearable race with Google-powered glasses designed for everyday wear.
Developed with Google, the glasses integrate Gemini AI and run on Android XR, positioning Samsung in direct competition with Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses.
Fashion Meets Function
To overcome the tech-heavy aesthetic that has limited previous smart glass adoption, Samsung partnered with established eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker to create distinct frame designs. The initial lineup includes a slim black frame by Gentle Monster and a brown frame with an upswept brow line by Warby Parker.
"As agentic AI reshapes mobile experiences, the next step is to make those experiences more intuitive and responsive to each user's context," said Won-Joon Choi, COO of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics.
Hardware and Battery
Built on the Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 platform, the eyewear includes a camera for visual AI context. Battery life reaches up to nine hours on a single charge, with the charging case providing up to seven additional full charges.
Core Features
The glasses offer live translation, message summarization, and POV sharing. Users can capture visual information, such as whiteboards, directly into Samsung Notes. The device expands the Galaxy ecosystem beyond smartphones and watches into agentic AI wearables.

Timeline and Context
The project was first teased at Google I/O in May 2026. The glasses are expected to launch in fall 2026.
By leveraging Android XR and Gemini, Samsung aims to create a seamless, hands-free AI layer that interacts with the user's physical environment in real-time, potentially shifting the primary point of AI interaction from handheld screens to wearable lenses.
