Capcom has expanded the universe of its supernatural action franchise with the release of an official companion webcomic on the Webtoon platform. The series serves as a direct prequel to the recently launched game, Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
The digital comic focuses on the story of Sasaki Ganryu, a rival to the legendary Miyamoto Musashi. According to the narrative, Ganryu acquires an Oni Gauntlet during a quest driven by a desire for power and vengeance. The project is produced by the US-based studio Laurel Pursuit and features contributions from Webtoon creators jjolee, hilluhri, and BAEKSSE. New chapters are released every Saturday and are available for free to readers on the Webtoon platform.

The Onimusha series is known for blending Japanese feudal history with supernatural conflict involving the Genma.
