Nintendo's upcoming tactical RPG, Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave, is set to launch worldwide on September 17, 2026, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. While the title serves as a narrative and mechanical successor to Three Houses, its architectural foundation relies heavily on systems pioneered years earlier in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
Fortune's Weave incorporates core features such as dungeon crawling and parallel routes—mechanics that originated in the 2017 3DS title. The series' now-standard turn-rewind mechanic, known as Mila's Turnwheel in Echoes and Divine Pulse in Three Houses, was also pioneered in the Echoes remake to allow players to take higher strategic risks without requiring a full battle reset.
