Freddy Fazbear's Pizza to Open Permanent Immersive Restaurant in New Jersey

The Five Nights at Freddy's franchise is expanding into a physical location at the American Dream mall, slated for a 2027 opening.

The fictional horror of Five Nights at Freddy's is moving from the screen to the streets. American Dream, the massive entertainment and retail hub in New Jersey, has partnered with franchise creator Scott Cawthon to launch a permanent immersive restaurant experience based on the series.

According to details released by American Dream and IGN, the attraction is scheduled for a grand opening in 2027. The venue will function as a hybrid of a dining establishment and an entertainment center, featuring food and arcade games. Guests will be able to experience animatronic stage shows featuring Freddy and the Fazbear Band, as well as a dedicated area for Foxy's Pirate Cove. Beyond the dining experience, the location will integrate "immersive multiplayer survival-horror experiences," bringing the game's tension into a physical environment.

A Growing Physical Footprint

Since its debut in 2014, Five Nights at Freddy's (FNaF) has evolved from a niche indie title into a global multimedia powerhouse. The brand has successfully expanded into novels, graphic novels, and two feature films, building a massive, dedicated fanbase. Recently, the franchise has tested the waters of physical installations, including a presence at Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights in 2025 and the sale of life-sized props through Spirit Halloween. These ventures served as a proof-of-concept for the demand for tangible FNaF experiences.

Shifting from Pop-ups to Permanence

This move represents a significant strategic shift for the franchise. While previous physical iterations were temporary pop-ups or seasonal themed events, the American Dream location marks the first time the series will maintain a functional, permanent physical presence. By blending dining, gaming, and horror within a high-traffic retail center, the project capitalizes on a long-standing fan desire to visit a real-life version of the game's central setting. It transforms the franchise from a digital experience into a destination-based business model.

What to Watch

As the project moves toward its 2027 launch, the industry will be watching how the venue balances the "family-friendly" nature of a mall restaurant with the survival-horror elements of the source material. While the core features of the animatronic shows and multiplayer experiences are confirmed, further details regarding the specific menu, ticket pricing, and the exact scale of the immersive horror elements remain to be seen. For now, the American Dream website invites fans to "be among the first to discover what awaits behind the doors."
