Rockstar Games has disabled all gambling features within GTA Online's Diamond Casino & Resort for players in Australia, ending seven years of access to virtual slots, table games, and horse racing.

The restriction blocks Australian players from accessing slots, blackjack, poker, roulette, the Inside Track horse racing, and the lucky wheel. Players can still enter the casino building and complete related story missions, but all wagering activities are now inaccessible.

Seven Years of Access Ends

The Diamond Casino & Resort update launched on July 23, 2019, and Australian players have been able to gamble using in-game GTA$ currency ever since. The virtual gambling system never allowed players to cash out winnings for real-world money, operating entirely within the game's economy.

Australia is one of approximately 50 countries where GTA Online gambling is disabled, including Poland, Greece, Israel, Vietnam, and Portugal.

Regulatory Pressure Mounts

The move follows regulatory changes in Australia. While Rockstar has not issued an official statement explaining the timing, the restriction suggests a shift in how either the company or Australian regulators are interpreting compliance with gambling laws alongside classification requirements.

Players Question Inconsistency

The restriction has drawn criticism from Australian players who note the irony of blocking virtual gambling in an adult-rated game while real-money betting remains widely accessible.
