Bengaluru's Wundrsight Health Raises $400K to Scale VR Mental Healthcare

Bengaluru-based Wundrsight Health is integrating virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence to standardize mental health therapy and neuro-rehabilitation. By replacing traditional imaginative exercises with immersive simulations, the company digitizes how patients confront anxiety-triggering scenarios within controlled environments.
The company has secured $400,000 in seed funding, led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV) and several angel investors. This capital supports a platform that has already delivered more than 1,000 therapy sessions across various rehabilitation centers and hospitals. Founded in 2022 by clinical psychologist Nishtha Budhiraja and entrepreneur Raunak Swarnkar, Wundrsight operates through its Neura AI and Neura XR platforms, which grant clinicians precise control over the pace and intensity of a patient's immersive experience.
The Shift to Simulation
Traditional mental healthcare frequently relies on patients imagining frightening scenarios or utilizing medication, as therapists cannot practically recreate real-world triggers—such as public speaking or phobias—within a clinical setting. Wundrsight emerged from Budhiraja's own experiences during a period of physical confinement, which led her to investigate whether high-quality care could be delivered through simulation rather than physical presence. The company's philosophy is captured in its guiding principle: "don't imagine reality, simulate it."
Clinical Validation and Market Impact
Beyond the technology, Wundrsight has achieved a significant regulatory milestone. It is currently the only VR therapy provider in India registered by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) as a Class B Software as a Medical Device. This classification is critical, as it moves VR therapy from the realm of wellness apps into the category of regulated medical tools.
By shifting therapy from a purely conversational or imaginary process to one that is experiential, Wundrsight provides clinicians with objective data on behavioral responses. This transition allows for more measurable outcomes in neuro-rehabilitation and mental health treatment. Furthermore, the CDSCO approval establishes a high barrier to entry for competitors and validates the clinical efficacy of VR within the Indian healthcare market.
