Eros Innovation, Thakers High Tech Partner on Sovereign AI and Semiconductor Stack
The collaboration spans eight technology domains aimed at reducing India's dependence on foreign tech in critical sectors.
Eros Innovation and Thakers High Tech LLP announced a strategic collaboration on July 28, 2026, to jointly research, develop, and commercialize next-generation technologies across eight domains, including Sovereign AI, semiconductors, space, defence, healthcare, and Digital Public Infrastructure.
The partnership aligns with India's sovereign technology agenda to build a vertically integrated tech stack from silicon to AI models. Eros Innovation brings its AI and cultural intelligence layer; Thakers High Tech contributes hardware, semiconductor, and aerospace engineering expertise.
Eight Domains of Collaboration
The collaboration covers Sovereign AI Foundation Models, Cultural Intelligence, Semiconductor Technologies and AI Hardware, Space Technologies, Defence AI, Preventive Healthcare AI, Digital Public Infrastructure, and Advanced Research and Skill Development.
Eros Innovation is developing the Eros Institute for Sovereign Intelligence, a global research initiative to bring together universities, research institutions, government organizations, and industry partners.
Thakers High Tech LLP has expertise in semiconductor design, aerospace, and space technologies. The firm has worked with the Space Applications Centre (SAC), ISRO, and IN-SPACe on strategic technology initiatives. Pinakin Thaker, founder of Thakers High Tech LLP, worked at SAC/ISRO for more than 38 years on technology development.
Cultural AI at Scale
Eros Innovation's AI platform is based on the Eros Large Cultural Model (LCM) family, trained on approximately 1.5 trillion rights-cleared cultural tokens. The corpus draws from more than 11,000 films and 100,000 characters. The Eros cultural dataset has been independently valued at US$1.7 billion by OxValue.AI, a University of Oxford spin-out.
