Indian space startup GalaxEye has secured a US patent for its hybrid satellite imaging technology, marking a significant step in the company's effort to commercialize weather-independent Earth observation. The patent protects a specialized system designed to align and synchronize optical and microwave sensors for simultaneous data acquisition.
The patented architecture ensures that data collected from both sensors are spatially and temporally matched. This technology is the core of GalaxEye's 'Drishti' satellite, which the company describes as the world's first OptoSAR platform.
