The Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and the National Research Council of Science and Technology (NST) have launched a strategic hub in Boston to accelerate the global commercialization of South Korean technologies. The center is designed to leverage the region's dense biotech and tech ecosystem to move Korean research from the lab into the international market.
Named G-KIC-NST Americas and located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the hub focuses on validating and commercializing technologies developed by government-funded research institutes. By embedding itself within the Boston-Cambridge corridor—home to Harvard, MIT, and a massive concentration of venture capital—the center aims to bridge the critical gap between initial technology transfer and the complex stages of productization, clinical trials, and fundraising.
