Samsung has officially launched its eighth generation of foldable devices, introducing the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8. The new lineup marks a strategic shift for the company, prioritizing slimmer profiles and reduced weight to improve the daily usability of the foldable form factor.

To showcase the innovation behind the series, Samsung staged a high-profile launch event in Dubai featuring a skydiving stunt. The event culminated in a human formation in the air shaped like the new foldable phone, a spectacle intended to highlight the devices' design evolution. Fadi Abu Shamat, Vice President and Head of the Mobile eXperience Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics, stated that the campaign reflected the company’s vision of encouraging people to push boundaries through innovation.

The device now weighs 201g, a significant reduction from the approximately 253g seen in the Z Fold5.
