QRT and Trinity Fab Partner to Boost South Korean Semiconductor Production

QRT and Trinity Fab have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to accelerate semiconductor supply-chain production. The partnership is designed to strengthen South Korea's domestic industry for semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will collaborate to streamline production processes and enhance overall supply-chain efficiency. Trinity Fab, a nonprofit foundation funded by the South Korean government, Yongin City, and SK hynix, is currently developing a 12-inch semiconductor testbed. QRT will leverage its specialized reliability testing and analysis capabilities to support the critical transition phase where semiconductor products move from initial development into full-scale mass production.

Strengthening the Domestic Ecosystem

This collaboration arrives as the global semiconductor industry seeks to diversify supply chain capabilities to meet rising demand and eliminate persistent bottlenecks. By integrating a government- and industry-funded testbed with professional reliability analysis, South Korea aims to create a more resilient internal infrastructure. The focus on materials, parts, and equipment (MPE) is a strategic move to reduce reliance on external providers and ensure that the domestic ecosystem can support the rapid iteration of chip technologies.
