Carahsoft Partners With Factory to Bring Autonomous Software Development to Public Sector

Carahsoft Technology has entered into a strategic partnership with Factory to integrate autonomous software development into government operations. The move aims to streamline how federal, state, and local agencies procure and deploy advanced AI-driven coding tools.

Under the terms of the agreement, Carahsoft will serve as the master government aggregator for Factory's autonomous software development platform. This arrangement allows Carahsoft to leverage its existing government procurement contracts and extensive network of reseller partners to make the platform available to public sector entities. The platform is SOC 2-certified and is designed to automate the entire software lifecycle, including planning, coding, testing, review, security, and release.

Bridging the Procurement Gap

Carahsoft frequently operates as a bridge between high-tech software manufacturers and the complex, often rigid procurement requirements of the U.S. public sector. By acting as a master aggregator, Carahsoft removes the friction typically associated with government purchasing, providing a standardized path for agencies to acquire emerging technologies. This collaboration follows a recent pattern for the company, which recently partnered with Intrado to provide emergency communications infrastructure, including OneAlert and Emergency Response Services.

Security and Modernization

For government agencies, the primary barrier to adopting autonomous agents is often the requirement for extreme security and data isolation. Factory's platform addresses these needs by supporting deployment in standard cloud environments as well as fully air-gapped settings. Additionally, the tool allows for single-tenant deployments within sandboxed environments, ensuring that sensitive government data remains isolated.
