The move integrates Firetiger's specialized capabilities for monitoring software rollouts and detecting regressions directly into the Cursor development platform.

The acquisition focuses on merging production performance data with the AI-assisted coding process. By incorporating Firetiger's "Change Monitors," Cursor aims to build a closed-loop system where the editor is informed by how code actually performs after it is deployed. As part of the transition, Firetiger is being sunset as an independent product to fully integrate its technology into the Cursor ecosystem.

Before the acquisition, Firetiger had already established a technical bridge to AI assistants via a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, allowing tools like Cursor to interact with its observability data.

By combining autonomous production observability with generative coding, the platform can theoretically detect a regression in production and automatically feed that specific context back into the editor.
