Cytix Raises $7M Series A to Manage AI-Driven Code Risks

Cybersecurity startup Cytix has raised $7 million in Series A funding to scale its change risk management platform. The investment targets the growing security vulnerabilities introduced by the rapid volume of AI-generated code and agentic workflows in enterprise environments.
The funding round was led by Northern Gritstone, with additional participation from existing investors Auriga Cyber Ventures and NPIF II – PXN Equity Finance. The platform is designed to monitor software changes, analyze associated risks, determine necessary security responses, and provide the essential evidence required for regulatory compliance.
The Shift to Machine-Speed Development
The rise of AI-assisted coding and continuous delivery has fundamentally altered the software development lifecycle, significantly increasing both the speed and volume of code changes. While traditional security tools are effective at identifying latent vulnerabilities, they often lack the visibility needed to assess the immediate business risk associated with specific, rapid changes introduced by AI tools.
Ben Armstrong, CEO of Cytix, noted that software is changing because AI-assisted development allows change to happen at "machine speed." He observed that very few security leaders currently possess the control or understanding of those changes from a risk perspective.
Closing the Governance Gap
As AI-generated code begins to outpace the capacity of human security teams to conduct manual reviews, a critical gap in corporate governance has emerged. For enterprises and highly regulated organizations, this acceleration creates a tension between the desire for rapid innovation and the necessity of maintaining strict security guardrails.
Cytix intends to position its platform as a central control point between the development lifecycle and compliance functions. By automating the risk analysis of changes, the company aims to ensure that the speed of AI development does not bypass critical regulatory requirements or introduce unmanaged risks into production environments.
Future Outlook
The company will use the new capital to scale its operations and expand its reach among organizations facing heavy regulatory scrutiny. As agentic workflows—where AI agents independently propose and implement code changes—become more common, the industry will likely see an increased demand for automated risk management tools that can operate at the same velocity as the AI they monitor.
