Three UVA Professors Join Inaugural ACM SIGSOFT Software Engineering Academy

Three computer science professors from the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Engineering and Applied Science have been named inaugural members of the Software Engineering Academy. The honor recognizes individuals whose technical contributions and leadership have had a profound and lasting influence on the global software engineering community.
Among the 80 computer scientists worldwide selected for the first class are Matthew Dwyer, the Robert Thomson Distinguished Professor; Sebastian Elbaum, the Lawrence Quarles Professor; and Mary Lou Soffa, the Owens R. Cheatham Professor of Sciences Emerita. All three UVA inductees hold the distinction of being fellows of both the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
