Vivasoft Scales from Dhaka Startup to Global AI and Engineering Firm

Vivasoft Limited has transitioned from a local software services startup into a global technology provider with operations spanning four countries. The company's growth marks a strategic shift from traditional team augmentation toward high-value AI development and specialized engineering.

Now employing more than 300 people, the firm operates across Bangladesh, Nepal, the UK, and Malaysia. Since its founding in 2016 by Shafiul Hasan Tareq and Shafqat Asif, Vivasoft has built a portfolio serving over 50 international clients, including Orbitax, Azerion, Klikit, Banglalink, and City Bank. To support this scale, the company has secured ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and ISO/IEC 27701 certifications, signaling a commitment to global security and quality standards.

A Shift Toward Proprietary AI

While the company began with a focus on software development and team augmentation, it has aggressively diversified into proprietary product development. This evolution is most evident in its AI suite, which includes Kothon, a voice processing tool supporting Bangla, Nepali, Malay, and English, and Previea, a platform designed for AI-driven interview practice.

This pivot reflects a broader internal philosophy. Co-founder Shafiul Hasan Tareq noted that the company was built on a commitment to an employee-friendly culture and a flat hierarchy, intended to contrast with the rigid management structures often found within the Bangladeshi software industry.

Engineering and Global Compliance

Beyond software, Vivasoft has moved into embedded systems engineering, focusing on firmware, IoT, and device-level integration. This expansion was supported by the establishment of a dedicated R&D Lab to explore robotics and hardware-software synergy.

This technical pivot has allowed the company to engage with high-stakes regulatory environments. Vivasoft is currently working with European clients to navigate the EU Cyber Resilience Act, a move that underscores the increasing necessity of cybersecurity compliance in the global IoT market. CTO and co-founder Shafqat Asif stated that the most significant change the company has witnessed recently is not the technology itself, but the increased level of responsibility held toward the end user.

As Vivasoft continues to scale, the company is positioned as a bridge between South Asian engineering talent and stringent Western regulatory requirements.
