YC-backed Gooseworks hires founding engineer to scale autonomous GTM agents
The startup is expanding its team to build AI coworkers capable of executing end-to-end growth workflows.
Gooseworks, a Y Combinator W23 startup, is recruiting a founding engineer to accelerate the development of its autonomous AI coworker platform. The company aims to automate complex go-to-market (GTM) operations, moving beyond simple chat interfaces toward agents that independently manage business growth.
The company's core product consists of "Goose" agents—AI coworkers equipped with persistent workspaces, including dedicated computers, email accounts, files, and memory. According to Gooseworks, the platform provides over 200 growth skills and connects to more than 100 data APIs, such as LinkedIn, Crunchbase, and Apollo, through a single gateway. This infrastructure allows agents to handle tasks like lead generation, SEO, and ad campaign management. To date, the company reports its system has seen 8,522 AI agents and 73,011 skill runs.
The Shift to Autonomous GTM
Gooseworks is positioning itself within the broader transition from Large Language Model (LLM) assistants to autonomous agents. While traditional AI tools require constant prompting, Gooseworks provides "skills" that can be integrated into AI coding assistants like Claude Code and Cursor. This approach is designed to replace the manual "busywork" typically handled by founders or external agencies, allowing startups to execute growth strategies without a linear increase in human headcount.
Market Implications
By focusing specifically on GTM workflows, Gooseworks targets one of the most resource-intensive aspects of early-stage company growth. The ability for an AI agent to possess persistent memory and tool-use capabilities means it can execute end-to-end processes—such as identifying a lead via Apollo and initiating a personalized outreach sequence—without human intervention at every step. This represents a shift toward a "digital workforce" model where AI agents function as specialized employees rather than mere productivity tools.
Scaling and Accessibility
As the company seeks a founding engineer to build out this vision, it has already established a tiered, credit-based pricing model to attract different user segments. According to the company's website, plans range from a "Lite" tier at $29 per month to a "Business" plan priced at $299 per month. The current focus remains on expanding the library of growth skills and deepening the integration between AI agents and the external data APIs required for scalable market outreach.
