Currently, nine countries possess nuclear weapons, and several are actively expanding their capabilities. Russia is developing novel nuclear delivery systems specifically designed to circumvent existing missile defenses. Meanwhile, China is projected to increase its warhead count to approximately 1,500 by 2035, though current estimates of its existing arsenal vary between 400 and 620.

By reducing the window available for human deliberation, these systems increase the probability of an accidental nuclear conflict.
