Dili Raises $21.7 Million to Automate AI Compliance for U.S. Infrastructure
The platform replaces manual sampling with real-time verification to protect federally funded projects from multimillion-dollar penalties.
Dili, an AI-native compliance platform targeting U.S. infrastructure, has raised $21.7 million to automate regulatory oversight for large-scale construction and energy projects. The funding arrives as the U.S. accelerates a massive buildout of manufacturing and data center capacity, where federal funding mandates strict adherence to labor laws.
The company recently closed a $15 million Series A round led by Khosla Ventures, following an initial $6.7 million seed round. Other participants in the Series A included Allianz, Rebel Fund, Brick and Mortar Ventures, and Y Combinator’s Garry Tan. To date, Dili’s platform has processed more than 5.2 million labor hours and over $1.4 billion in wages across more than 700 projects.
The Compliance Gap
Infrastructure projects funded by federal sources, such as the Inflation Reduction Act, must navigate a dense web of overlapping regulations. These include apprenticeship requirements and Davis-Bacon prevailing wage rules. Historically, companies have relied on manual audits from "Big Four" accounting firms, which typically sample only a small fraction of project data. This sampling method often leaves firms blind to systemic errors, exposing them to significant financial risk.
According to Vinod Khosla, founder of Khosla Ventures, the current scale of American infrastructure development means that a single missed financial compliance requirement can put hundreds of millions of dollars at risk.
AI-Driven Verification
To solve this, Dili utilizes a hybrid technical approach. The platform employs AI within its data layer to translate unstructured documents into structured data. This information is then fed into a deterministic system that checks the data against static regulatory rules. This architecture allows Dili to verify 100% of project data in real time, reducing review timelines from several hours to just a few minutes.
Anand Chaturvedi, co-founder and CEO of Dili, noted that the ability to check all incoming information is critical because non-compliance can result in millions of dollars in fines. By moving away from sampling, the platform aims to eliminate the gaps where costly errors typically hide.
