Hosting provider Namecheap suffered a widespread service outage on August 13, 2026, after a cooling system failure at its Phoenix data center. The disruption impacted a broad array of critical services, including Namecheap.com, DNS management, Private Email, EasyWP, and Shared, VPS, and Dedicated hosting.
The outage was traced back to the PHX-01 data center, where infrastructure is managed by PhoenixNAP and its provider RadiusDC. According to RadiusDC, the facility experienced "elevated white space temperatures" caused by multiple "utility bump events" triggered by overnight storms in the region. These power instabilities led to the failure of the facility's cooling systems, forcing emergency maintenance to prevent permanent hardware damage from overheating.
