TikTok Turns Comment Sections Into Interactive Social Hubs With Voice and Polls

TikTok is overhauling its comment sections with a suite of interactive features designed to turn passive feedback loops into active social spaces. The updates introduce voice messaging, creator-led polls, and expanded visual media to deepen user engagement.
Users aged 18 and older can now record voice comments up to one minute in length, a feature rolling out globally over the next month. To maintain safety, TikTok is moderating these audio messages through a combination of human oversight and automated tools, including speech-to-text transcription.
Visual interaction is also expanding. Users will soon be able to post photo carousel comments containing up to nine images, which are also rolling out globally over the coming month. Additionally, Live Photo comments—which provide a brief burst of motion—are now available to users worldwide. For creators, the platform has added the ability to implement global polls on their videos, offering up to five options and customizable timeframes.
