India's Enterprise ICT Market to Grow 15.5% Annually Through 2030
Surging AI adoption and cloud migration are driving a massive digital transformation across India's public and private sectors.
India's enterprise Information and Communication Technology (ICT) market is poised for significant expansion, with a projected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15.5% through 2030. This growth signals a pivotal shift as the nation evolves from a global tech service provider into a primary consumer of advanced digital infrastructure.
According to data from GlobalData, the momentum is backed by strong corporate commitment, with 92.3% of surveyed enterprise ICT decision-makers reporting increased budgets for 2026 compared to the previous year. Artificial Intelligence is emerging as the most aggressive growth engine, forecast to be the fastest-growing IT solution segment with a CAGR of 54%. Meanwhile, cloud computing is expected to remain the largest solutions segment, accounting for 17.9% of cumulative ICT revenue between 2025 and 2030, growing at a CAGR of 21.1%.
The Drivers of Digital Shift
This expansion is fueled by a combination of private-sector demand and targeted public initiatives. Bhushan Firke, a technology analyst at GlobalData, notes that the growth is supported by a dual-engine of public investment and accelerating private demand. A key component of this shift is the proliferation of Global Capability Centers (GCCs), with more than 1,700 centers currently providing critical R&D and engineering services within the country.
Government policies are further lowering the barrier to entry for smaller players. The 'Cloud-First' policy and the Digital MSME Scheme are specifically designed to help micro, small, and medium enterprises integrate into the digital economy. This systemic move away from traditional on-premises infrastructure toward secure, scalable public and hybrid cloud environments is reshaping the national ICT landscape. Firke emphasizes that enterprises are prioritizing platforms that are secure by design and governed for compliance and AI accountability.
Sector Impact and Economic Implications
The Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector continues to lead the charge. It remains the largest vertical segment, projected to account for 14.5% of cumulative ICT revenue from 2025 to 2030, with a robust CAGR of 20.6%. Beyond finance, the integration of Industry 4.0 standards in manufacturing is further diversifying the demand for high-end ICT solutions.
This trajectory positions India as a critical global hub for digital economy infrastructure. By permeating the broader economy—extending beyond large conglomerates to include MSMEs—the digital transformation is becoming a baseline for national economic productivity rather than a luxury for elite firms.
Future Outlook
As India scales its AI and cloud capabilities, the focus will likely shift toward the sustainability of this infrastructure and the management of high-end compute resources. While the budget increases for 2026 indicate immediate confidence, the long-term success of the 2030 forecast will depend on the continued execution of digital schemes and the ability of the workforce to keep pace with the 54% growth rate in AI implementation.
